Welcome Visitors -
What can I expect on a Sunday morning?
Our service starts at 10:30 am. You will hear an inclusive message at UCH. You are welcome to participate fully, or just sit back to watch and listen.
The service is usually 60 minutes long - more or less! We begin by singing together. Our music is eclectic; the same service may include a traditional Protestant hymn and a jazz piano solo. We usually hear a message, which lasts about 20 minutes. The service also includes silent reflection, spoken prayer, a story, and a monetary offering. A combination of guest ministers and lay leaders officiate the services.
Dress is very casual. Blue jeans are common. Shorts and flip-flops show up in the summer. Some people dress up more. Wear what you feel most like yourself in!

Plan Your First Sunday Visit
We know that a first time anywhere new is exciting but sometimes can be daunting, too. The Unitarian Church of Hinsdale strives to be a radically hospitable community, and we work hard to make sure you feel welcome. The aim of this page is to help you prepare for your first experience at UCH.
Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before the 10:30 am service and stop by the Welcome Table in the Living Room. You’ll find friendly and helpful greeters who will tell you about what’s happening on that Sunday and provide you with information about our community. Fill out a newcomer’s form, tell us of your interests, how you found us, and of any questions we can answer. If you leave your email address, someone will be in touch and you'll receive our weekly newsletter with more information.

For Families with Children
Our children stay in the service for the beginning song and announcements and listen to the Wisdom Story for all ages at the front of the church together. They then follow Director of Programs, Pam Fodor, and the teachers over to the Religions Education building for age appropriate classes. Children are welcome to remain with parents until they feel comfortable, or jump right in and participate if they want to be with kids their own age. You trust what feels right for you and your child.
Families are also invited to visit the Religion Education building across the lane from the church. A hospitality team member can introduce you to Pam Fodor and she can answer any questions you might have. Feel free to explore our classrooms.
Upper Floor: Youth Group-Room 6 Chapel Service- Joshi Chapel
