All-Community Worship
WORSHIP is a time of gathering for our congregational family; a time to set apart to lift up what is worthy, a time to feel at home. Worship is more than a Sunday service. It allows us time to live our religious principles by appreciating and encouraging each other’s free and responsible search for truth and meaning. Worship is a part of EVERYONE’S religious education. UCH offers several ALL-COMMUNITY WORSHIP services in the sanctuary throughout the church year. These services are deliberately planned to bring together adults, children and youth, allowing our whole church community to worship together. |
Worshipping with children is important for many reasons.
Our commitment to All-Community Worship Services will help all
our members, young and old, to define what is sacred and spiritual in their lives- and that is what being a faith community is all about. Check our newsletter, The Touchstone, to find out the dates of these special worship services and please plan on attending with your family.
- It gives young children the experience of seeing what adults do when they worship and offers an example of reverence and respect for worship, which they can later emulate.
- Being able to worship in the sanctuary- for the whole service- is often an important clue to figuring out what our religion is all about.
- It provides one of the only avenues for interaction between older and younger members of our church community.
- It provides opportunities for younger members to become familiar with and understand of liturgy, values and norms.
- It provides busy families ways to spend meaningful time together that will spur them on to further sharing and conversation.
