Each month UCH has given away the entire collection from one service a month to a non-profit doing important work in the wider world.  Since Covid times, the amount collected has dropped dramatically so we are widening our time frame to the entire month each group. Check this space for information on current and past partners.

September 2024 Social Justice Collection — Sunday, September 8

The UCH Second Sunday Social Justice Collection in June will  benefit The Austin Scholars Award Program. The Program spreads out their three $500 semester payments to help pace students into their sophomore year. All donations go to scholar awards with any other expenses pledged by committee members, who are volunteers. 

Co-Founder Roberta Wilson, 97 years old, will be joined by Co-Chair Charles Gunn and his wife Lynne Arnold Gunn (Hinsdale Central Grad) on Sunday, September 8, to kick off our Social Justice Month. 

On Sunday, September 8, all cash and checks received in the Second Sunday Collection, unless otherwise indicated on your check, will be donated to Austin Scholars Award Program. Please indicate on the "For" line of your check, "Austin Scholars Award Program" or "Social Justice." You can also mail a check to: UCH, 17 W. Maple, Hinsdale, IL 60521.
