Working hard to make sure lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are full members of our faith communities. Being welcoming means striving for radical inclusion, and creating spaces that honor every part of our identities, backgrounds, and experiences.

Mission Statement

The LGBTQIA+ Welcoming Congregation team’s purpose is to shape our church and society into a safe, equitable place where all LGBTQIA+ people are welcomed and valued as whole persons in all aspects of congregational life.
To ensure that we are welcoming to all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and 2Spirit persons and all other Marginalized Orientations and Genders Alignments, we covenant to:
Be a place of welcoming and acceptance. This is not a place where you have to defend what you are, or a place where people question you.
Educate those around us, from a place of love, so all those who enter in are understanding and able to love everyone.
Support those in our church, and the wider community in creating a culture of love, as well as with monetary and emotional support.
Be outgoing in who we are, not only in what we have been, but we will be open to what we can and will be.
Continue to advocate for welcoming, and make it a part of who we are, not just something special.
