We are assembling more than 20 baskets valued at more than $150 each, containing gift cards for restaurants, theater tickets, museum passes, books, wellness products, decorative items, and dozens of other fun donations! We’re still collecting goods and gift cards, but here’s a sampling of raffle baskets:
Shop-til-You-Drop includes an after-hours shopping party at Jayne Boutique in La Grange ($150+ value with a $50 gift card for the hostess, %20 off all purchases for her guests, and wine and light appetizers/desserts for all), as well as a gift card to one of the many fine restaurants in La Grange.
The Oak Park /River Forest Date Night includes 2 tickets for any show at the Dominican University Performing Arts Center ($100 value) and a $75 gift card for dinner at Oak Park’s popular Maya del Sol Latin Fusion restaurant.
A Family Fun and Wellness basket contains vouchers for dance lessons or pilates classes at Lively Arts Academy; a gift card for haircut from Sports Clips, and passes for the DuPage Children’s Museum.
In the Family and Friends Movie Night basket, you’ll find passes for the La Grange Movie Theater, vouchers for popcorn and drinks, and a gift certificate for a local restaurant.
The Asian Experience includes gift cards for Cida Thai restaurant ($20), Kama Indian Bistro ($50), & Wild Ginger ($25), and some lovely Asian decorative pieces.
Picnic Day includes passes for the Morton Arboretum, as well as a gift card for Alpine Deli and picnic supplies.
Family Summer Swim and Play includes a 3-month Family Membership to Five Seasons Family Sports Club, which includes a beautiful pool, tennis courts, and extensive workout facilities (a $600 value!!)
And, of course, Barbaboo Circus Escape will get you tickets to the famed Circus World Museum in Baraboo, WI, a Culver’s gift card, a gas card, and other goodies.
We also have donations from the Illinois Holocaust Museum, Court Theater, The Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Giuliano’s Pizza and Pasta,Chicago Humanities Festival, American Walks Tours, Vie Restaurant, Salt Cave, Yoga By Degrees, the Ceramic Arts Café, and many more!

Would you please support our “Under the Big Top” annual fundraiser?
I’m Paula Sejut- Dvorak, chair of the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale’s Annual Gala Auction and Raffle. It’s our 20th annual fundraising auction to be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
The Gala will feature live music by a local band and food, a cash bar and a huge raffle. It’s an all hands-on deck affair and the biggest event of our church year.
Who are we? The Unitarian Church of Hinsdale is centrally located in downtown Hinsdale, IL since 1887. We are comprised of an incredibly diverse group of 200 people representing Hinsdale and 35 neighboring communities. We are a community of passionate leaders, working professionals, social activists, environmental stewards, educators, and patrons of the arts.
We have three goals for our Gala. (1) Build and strengthen our community so that the Gala generates a connection to our community (2) Raise at least $10,000—significant because it comprises 3 percent of our annual operating budget. (3) All members/friends to secure at least one business donation
Why donate, advertise, or sponsor? In previous years, businesses making donations have seen an increase in visibility, sales, and customers. We expect over 150 people to attend the event. We estimate that your marketing will reach 1,250 people. Please consider donating or advertising in our auction publication, or becoming a sponsor.

Bottom-line, we only need two things to make our event a success: (1) people to attend (mark May 11th on your calendar and plan on attending with friends); and, (2) items to buy. To realize our goals—we need everyone’s help!
