We are also saving energy in the Church and RE buildings. This is the Technology project, which in the past saw the installation of low-wattage light bulbs and radiator timers to save electricity and gas (good for the earth and good for the bottom line). In 2008 we conducted an energy audit, which identified large and small changes we could make in our buildings to save more energy. Our “Buy an R” fund-raiser in 2009 paid for insulating the church attic to R-38 and will fund window caulking. We have also sealed the church chimney to stop drafts, and we have adopted energy-saving measures for our office computers.
