Green Worship
We continue to apply earth-friendly principles to our church’s spiritual and educational programs. Green Worship describes our practice of incorporating earth wisdom into our worship. Our minister, Ed Searl, frequently brings the message of harmony with the earth into his sermons, including marking the solstices and equinoxes, as well as the cross-quarter days: Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas and Sawhain. In addition, at least one Sunday a year is devoted to a special Green Sanctuary theme. And we have instituted winter solstice services to solemnicize the dark of winter, and a more joyous celebration at Beltane, the first Sunday of May, complete with singing, dancing, a pageant, and the Maypole!
